First step as administrator: grant access to the platform to the various stakeholders.

Identify the people who will need advance access to the platform. These people will need to know their own stakes on the platform, and you'll be in charge of equipping them to carry out their mission successfully.

Depending on the target uses of your platform, select key people in the relevant business departments. Communication, Marketing, Human Resources or IT - don't try to address everyone, just your initial needs. There's always time to address a new use case later on.

Give rights to the people in charge of building the site's pages, from the home page to the sub-pages, simply by adding them to the"Communicators" rights group

This group will give them access to the tools they need to modify, manage and create pages on the platform.

They will be able to train themselves independently by accessing the"Communicating effectively with Workplace" training path included in your help area.

This "Communicants" group will also give editorial management rights to the site's home page.

Members will be able to create articles and easily feed your platform's editorial line. This will be done via the "Article management" application.

The platform comes with 4 basic articles. To open up your platform more widely for testing or evaluation on a representative population, it is advisable to have at least supplied the site with your own articles.

Your platform has a documentation area.

As in the case of the editorial section, you need to feed the documentation section to enable the first users to get to grips with using their new tool.

there are 2 possible scenarios:

  • Document management is centralized in your organization, so all you have to do is give administration rights to the people concerned in the dedicated workspace. (See: knowledge dedicated to workspaces)
  • Document management is broken down by department or business line, so you'll need to create groups of rights that you can easily link to tree branches.
